Raafat El Mehi An Egyptian screenwriter and director born in 1940, and is considered to have experimented a lot with their films. He studied English literature in the Faculty of Arts before graduating from the High Institute of Cinema in 1964. He debuted in 1966 with the script for the film Wa Gaffat El Amtar (And The Rains Have Dried), and in the 1970's, he started a fruitful and highly acclaimed collaboration with director Kamal El Sheikh that culminated in 4 feature films. In 1981 he made his first feature film as a director Oyoun La Tanam (Sleepless Eyes), and followed it with El Avocato (The Lawyer) in 1983 and Lel Hob Qissa Akhira (Love's Last Story) in 1986. Towards the late 1980's, he started another fruitful collaboration with actor Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, during which he wrote and directed three critically acclaimed films: Samak, Laban, Tamr Hendi, Al Sada Al Regal and Sayedaty Anesaty
