In one of Moqattam’s neighborhoods, the residents are especially joyful; Shata proposed to the dancer Ahlam. Ahlam however, loves Awad, the poor napkin seller. To make sure he doesn’t lose her, Awad needs to make fast cash for Ahlam’s dowry, she tries to help him. Desperate, the two lovers resort to all possible means to make the money and on the wedding night, Ahlam reveals her secret to Awad.
