"Khairy Beshara Retrospective" is a film program presented by Zawya that celebrates the great director Khairy Beshara, whose films we have long awaited the opportunity to host and screen on the big screen again. Khayri Beshara's films represented milestones in the new Egyptian realistic cinema during the 1970s and 1980s, which continue to influence contemporary Egyptian cinema and many young filmmakers. The program presents a selection of the director's most important works, some of which have been recently restored by the Red Sea International Film Festival, in addition to three documentary films that have been restored by the National Cinema Center. The program is an opportunity to rediscover Khayri Beshara's diverse and distinct works, and to get to know the director who is often described as a rebel.
