Moon Dog

Khairy Bishara

Part of Khairy Beshara Retrospective

This film belongs largely to biographical films. But it also preceded many of the films we see today that mix the public and the private by placing the director himself in the film’s story. Director Khairy Bishara used this method in order to dissect himself as a director, an artist, and before that, as a human being. Let us see in this film the problems of the youth represented by his son Robert, as well as America, which we see through the eyes of Khairy Bishara. This film deals with the story of director Khairy Bishara himself and his family, as they travel to America on a family visit. Suddenly, Robert Jr. discovers that his father has turned into a black dog. The son tries to find his dog father on the streets of America. He searches for him until he can finally find him. On his search, Robert meets many characters living in America who encountered the dog at some time or place while... With the director-turned-dog, we live the life of a pet in several houses and a life of loitering and being homeless on the street.
