Part of CHAHINE: THE RESTORATION PROJECT, 100 years of Youssef Chahine
Ahmed, a terminally ill naval officer who doesn’t know he’s dying, is transferred to a military hospital by the sea, where he shares a ward with five humorous, fun-loving convalescents. Mindful of his condition, his new roommates and their compassionate nurse, Houriya, try to befriend Ahmed in an attempt to ease his loneliness, but the latter—a self-proclaimed misanthrope with a traumatic past—shows no interest in their advances. Yet before long, Ahmed can’t help but respond to his companions’ kind gestures, and starts to develop feelings for Houriya, unaware of the fatal secret they’ve all been keeping from him.
